More Foul and Filthy and Pedophilia Bashing

I'm as liberal and open minded as the next immature, foul-mouthed cretin, but I had to put this slim volume down every twenty minutes and take a shower.
This is some foul, filthy stuff that is right up the Aristocrats alley.
Extremely funny, but not for the weak-hearted or religious crowd.
But with Stanhope, I guess you know what your getting.

This made me cry!

Doug Stanhope is my favorite comedian and this is him at his best. He takes to catch a predator to a whole new funny level. Its a quick read but well worth it since i laughed through the entire book, and cried from laughing so hard through the whole book as well.

The SuperHero of Trickery

This book is a twisted version of Dateline: To Catch a Predator. They work with a group called Perverted Justice, an organization dedicated to identifying adults on the internet willing to have chat room sexual encounters with minors. Doug Stanhope is Perverted Justice in real time. He's like an auxiliary police officer on permanent leave determined to root out this evil in the most hilarious way. We all know those cop shows where the cop is tired of the rules and he gets fired from the force and although he's off duty he still tracks down the criminal? This is Fun with Pedophiles: The Best of Baiting. Doug Stanhope hunts them down with a mouse and keyboard and drills everything into their head that will haunt them for the rest of their lives. Let's face it if Dateline can find a pedophile that easy so can Doug Stanhope. Fun with Pedophiles is a masterful collection of real world transcripts from the superhero of trickery. I got the feeling that every pederast Doug chatted with was left in such a state of confusion they crawled into a corner and began babbling incoherent word syllables until they were unable to feed themselves. This book is raw comedic genius. It's reality TV in book form with gut splitting laughter, ironic justice and of course the psychotic humor of Doug Stanhope.

About the Author

Julien Bayle

Julien Bayle owns his Master Degree of biology & computer sciences in 2000. After several years in pure IT System Design, he founded Design the Media early 2010 in order to provide his own courses, training & tools for art fields. As a digital artist, he designed some huge new media art installations, like the permanent exhibition of La Maison des Cin�matographies de la M�diterran�e (Ch�teau de la Buzine) in Marseille, France, in 2011. He also works as a new media technology consultant for some private & public entities. As an A/V live performer, he plays his cold electronic music from New York to Marseille, where he actually lives. Arduino framework is one of his first electronic hardware studies early 2005 and he designed the famous protodeck controller with some opensource framework too. As an art & technology teacher, also certified by Ableton in 2010, he teaches a lot of courses about the digital audio workstation named Ableton Live, about the real-time graphical programming framework Max6 and also about Processing and Arduino.

As a minimalist digital artist, he works at the crossroads of sound, visual and data. He explores relationships between sounds and visuals through his immersive A/V installations, his live performances and his released music. His work, often described as "complex, intrigating and relevant", tries to break classical codes to bring audience a new vision of our world through his pure digital and real-time generated stimuli.

I came to amazon to read the reviews because i thought maybe my ability wasn't the reason I couldn't learn from this book. The author is a French artist, not a teacher or author. The book jumps around and can't be followed by a beginner, at least not me. The grammar causes you to have to read one sentence 5 times to maybe understand what it means. I didn't pay for this book so I am only out the time i put into trying to read it, but it's bad enough to write a bad review for a free book. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Not about C

I'm not going to quibble about grammar. What annoyed me was the lack of focus on C. In a booked entitled "C Programming for Arduino." I'm actually surprised no one else mentioned this.

There isn't really a discussion of C per se. Programming the Arduino requires you to write in C/C++ so all books about Arduino discuss programming in C. A book that specifies it is about programming in C should emphasize actually learning C. The reader is left with a broken understanding of C. There's no mention of what the full C would look like coming out of the IDE - where's my main()? Can I alter memory addresses directly? Why might I do that?. How do I program the Arduino with a typical C toolset? This page supplies more of that information in 6 steps: http://www.wikihow.com/Write-Arduino-Software-in-C This is also a nice page: https://balau82.wordpress.com/2011/03/29/programming-arduino-uno-in-pure-c/ Both of these references were found with a quick google search. I expected a discussion of C and how it is used to program an Arduino. What I got was a general discussion of programming an Arduino.

I would not have any real issue with this book if the title were something more general like, "Rapid Programming for Arduino from the Ground Up." The content is useful. The author covers material not discussed in the pages I noted above. He leads the newcomer through the Arduino world. Although he does so in a somewhat muddled way. There is good material here and if you are ok with a very informal approach then the book is fine. It just isn't a book on programming an Arduino in C. It's a fairly nice book about programming an Arduino in general. I really hope the author wasn't mislead by Packt into using a title that is incomplete at best and purposefully misleading in the worst case.

The author should have included some discussion of topics such as that discussed in the previously mentioned links. If he had then most of the material could have remained the same. Leave out the other languages and frameworks. I'd give bonus points for showing how to implement code from Processing using C instead. Use QT or some other GUI framework for visualization.

Other quibbles:
Leave out the very brief summary of electricity. If the reader needs that then they really need more than is provided. There are other books for that. That section should have maybe been a glossary or appendix if that.

There is a decent amount of content in this book, but it's hidden behind some appalling prose. Despite a list of *twenty* editors, proofreaders and reviewers in the credits, this book reads as though it has had no editing whatsoever.

Wibbeke is breaking new grounds in multicultural leadership addressing the American leaders posted abroad in the Globalization era. i liked the book and wait for the new version. It adds to this library new insights: the 7 Cs (pun intended or unintended) "care, capabilitity, change, contrast, context, conscientiousness, communication". with many interviews to top executives in the field.
Any person posted abroad shuld read it and i suggest to add it to the Foreign Service reading list.

This book was recommended by a friend who seemed too enthusiastic about the content of the book. She made it sound interesting and said it was short and an easy read. I like to read so I thought why not. I was hooked after a couple pages. It gives a different perspective of principles we may already be aware of or know as well as a practical application of them. I'd read it again and again and recommend it too.

Twelve Great Laws to Live By

If you are a Dan Millman fan, this book will not disappoint. In it, Millman's character meets a female sage who takes him on a few days' journey through nature near his home. She reveals to him 12 Laws to Live By which are both practical and spiritual at the same time. (For that matter, one of the key points as subttext is that spiritual IS practical.) I have written down the 12 laws and have begun to work with them to focus my own practices and keep me on the highest path I can manage at this moment....every moment.

If you are not familiar with Millman, he is the author of The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, an all-time best seller which was also made into a very good Nick Nolte movie. Millman is in addition a world-class gymnast-cum-life coach. His work is an inspiration and a practical guide to living a better life. The Laws of Spirit just reinforces his earlier books and clarifies some of his key concepts.

The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that this book is in some ways a re-hash of the concepts in previous ones, rather than a totally new and therefore astonishing work. Nonetheless, it offers great insights and wonderful guidance while also entertaining. When trying to improve, one is always grateful for this kind of clear and engaging help.

I read my copy of this book annually and glean something new with each reading. I've given it to friends and family, young and old. It's a "story" full of life lessons that are easily understood without postulating a particular belief. I've read several of Dan Millman's books.

Very good and professional book. The book is more academic than a practical one, and to my opinion the target audience is engineering students, specializing in the field of HVAC.
For engineers working in HVAC design, it is a good reference for theory and calculation of various problems.

I've read many HVAC books and have worked in HVAC for several years. This is the best HVAC book I've read. It is the only book actually taking advantage of computers. This books complements the "Heat Transfer" and "thermodynamics" books by Nellis/Klein - but also is useful as standalone book.

The knowledge level in this book is pretty high and very thorough. All necessary information is included, no unnecessary fluff. I devoured this book within a week because I could not stop reading it. Years ago I looked at HVAC books and always thought they are missing the point and I will need to write a book on my now to get it all right - until finally now there is a useful HVAC book.

Great quick reference for the pics!

As a Pathology resident, I love this book. When I'm reading in Robbins and a picture isn't given for an entity, or I want to see more, and bigger, examples of something, I just flip this book open. It isn't meant to be a stand alone text, but the pics are awesome and are a great supplement to any text.
