About the Author
Dr. Robert M. Carlton is a Board Certified Obstetrician & Gynecologist since 1965. He was in active practice for seven years in New York where he had trained, and in the San Fernando Valley, CA. until retirement in 2007. He had served on many committees in affiliated hospitals during his practice years.

Outstanding book of love and death anfed the best of the best of a doctor and his dying wi

This book is incredible. I couldn't put it down. I read it in two six hour seasons. What an amazing story of a man's love for his soul mate that proves to be real in more ways that one. I could only wish I had someone that had the ability to do what he did for his loving wife, That had the courage to do what she did to stay alive for her husband and family. This book is about a cancer and how they dealt with it, Its about a Jew marring a catholic Losing the ones you love the most for who you want to spend the rest of your life with. But it touches the deepest of a love and a will to live. It will bring the toughest of the tough to tears and to encourage one to look at yourself and make changes in your lifestyle, Doctors are so content on their daily practice that they forget that something might be out there that could actually be a better treatment. This Doctor took it to extremes to safe his wife and mother of their children. I bow to Dr. Robert Carlton and to his son Adam who I know will change the world of medicine as we know it. Gadol! Madheem!

Inspired strength in face of severe adversity

I have just finished reading Dr. Bob Carlton's inspirational and enlightening personal account of his and
wife Margaret's journey from first love, total commitment and then the challenges of dealing with an obviously
unexpected terminal illness. They together unfailingly, as a team dealt with the ovarian cancer,
exploring all options available over a seven year period during the mid 1990's timeframe.
I strongly encourage anyone seeking personal inspiration and the need to draw on inner strength in
dealing with a similar situation of a loved one with cancer to dedicate their time to this beautiful actual
account and how Bob and Margaret came to truly understand the disease as best could be accomplished and managed it's evolution.

Facing Illness With Love

A candid book about the difficulties of dealing with the illness of a loved one. The author chronicles the choices and decisions that he and his wife had to face. The book is a poignant tale of a loving couple facing life and death issues. Being that he is a physician, he is able to give helpful advice.
